Tonantzin Carmelo (Tongva, Kumeyaay)
was previously seen in Native Voices at the Autry's world premiere productions of Teaching Disco Square Dancing to Our Elders, Please Do Not Touch the Indians, and Jump Kiss and has been a participant in their Playwrights Retreat and Festival of New Plays (2006, 2007, 2009) and First Look Series (2008, 2009). Film credits: Thunder Heart Woman in Into the West; and the lead in the feature films Imprint, Unearthed, Periphery, and Shadow Heart. She is the voice and image of Kendra Daniels in the EA Game Dead Space and the voice announcer for eight national Nintendo DS commercials. Playing Carbon "Inky" Black

Michael Drummond recently participated in Native Voices at the Autry's 2009 Playwrights Retreat and Festival of New Plays and is thrilled to be part of Carbon Black. His regional credits include: Puck in A Midsummer Night's Dream, Macbeth, The Winters Tale, Titus Andronicus (The Old Globe); Northern Lights, An American Christmas (Lambs Players Theatre); Bye Bye Birdie, Annie Get Your Gun (Welk Resort Theatre); Peter Pan, Traditions of Christmas (CCT). Film/ TV credits include: Fragments with Dakota Fanning, Stone and Ed, Everybody Hates Chris, Veronica Mars, and various commercials. SAG/ AFTRA


Playing Sylvie Black

(Menominee, Stockbridge Munsee)

has acted in film, television, Broadway, Off-Broadway, and in regional theaters across the country. Some of her favorite directors she has worked with include: Michael Apted, Sam Shepard, Joe Chaikin, Dan Sackheim, Lisa Peterson, David Esbjornson, Betsy Theobald, Livieu Ciulei, Tony Taccone, Maria Vail, JoAnn Akalitis, and Robert Woodruff. She was Artist-in-Residence at The Public Theater in NYC in 2006 and 2007 where she, along with Maria Vail, and in collaboration with Sam Shepard, adapted The Bottle House, a play based on the short stories and poetry of Sam Shepard.

Playing Bodell Tucker

Stephan Wolfert left a career in the military for a life in the theatre after seeing Richard III. Since leaving the Army as an Infantry officer, he has received his MFA in Theatre from Trinity Rep Conservatory; created and directed the military segments for Twyla Tharp/ Billy Joel’s Tony-award winning Broadway musical Movin’ Out; created the largest touring Shakespeare Company in New England; and taught acting and Shakespeare at Cornell University. He currently teaches and directs at the Antelope Valley College, performs with three theatre companies in Los Angeles, and is the founding director of the Veterans Center for the Performing Arts. He was first seen in Native Voices at the Autry's Please Do Not Touch the Indians and is elated to be back. SAG/ AEA

Julian Conrad is a recent graduate of the University of California, Los Angeles where he received a BA in History with a minor in English. His recent theater credits include A Midsummer Night's Dream, Antony and Cleopatra (Shakespeare by the Sea); The Taming of the Shrew, Macbeth, Twelfth Night (Shakespeare at UCLA); and Twelve Angry Men (Starving Artists Productions) to name a few. He has also be seen in the BBC documentary Our World: Hollywood or Bust and several short films. SAG/ AFTRA

Eva Thomas (Ojibway, Tohono O'ohdam, Cherokee) studied Broadcasting and Communication at Arizona State University. After graduating, she trained at the Webber Douglas Dramatic Arts Academy in London, England and the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in NYC. Since moving to LA, she's worked on ABC’s General Hospital, NBC’s Passions, and in the feature film The Last Adam. She also participated in the 2006 and 2007 ABC-Disney-Institute of American Indian Arts (IAIA) Film and Television Workshops in Santa Fe. She received a Master's degree in American Indian Studies from UCLA and is very happy to work with Native Voices this season. SAG/ AFTRA
